MANILA – Police arrested six persons and seized illegal vape products worth almost PHP4 million in Quezon City.

In a statement Monday, Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said the suspects, identified as "Seb", "Mon", "Genevieve", "Rorem", "Kenneth", and "Pahrysz" were selling and distributing vape products without the necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry in Barangays Bagbag and Roxas District on March 12.

The suspects were charged with violations of Republic Act 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act); RA No. 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law), and RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012) and Section 10 in relation to Section 18 (a) of RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines) for illegal sale and distribution of unregistered vape products, illegal online distribution, and failure to display required health warnings.

Torre said the state protects and promotes the right to health and instills health consciousness among them.

“We urge the public to report all illegal trade of vape products and other illegal activities in your localities and your CIDG will do the rest,” Torre said.
