MANILA – Two weather systems will bring rain over several areas in the country, the weather bureau said Monday.

The easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Rains due to the northeast monsoon will prevail across Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora.

Moderate to heavy rains in the areas mentioned above could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The northeast monsoon will also cause isolated light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas will prevail across Northern Luzon.

Central Luzon, on the other hand, will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

As of 2 a.m., no low pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said.
