Metro Manila’s new COVID-19 cases climb to 955

MANILA, Philippines — Additional COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila increased to 955 on Thursday, July 14, according to independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research.

This is more than the 637 fresh infections recorded in the capital region on Wednesday, July 13.

Among the new cases in Metro Manila, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said 170 were reported in Quezon City, 119 from the City of Manila, and 103 from Makati City.

Cavite followed behind Metro Manila with the most number of new COVID-19 cases at 190, while Iloilo reported 140.

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday said 2,371 new infections were recorded in the country, bringing the total active cases to 14,862.

It likewise predicted previously that cases may reach as high as 17,000 by the end of July if compliance with minimum public health standards further declines.
