The number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines slightly decreased on Tuesday, Aug.16, as the Department of Health (DOH) logged more than 2,000 cases.
Based on the DOH Covid-19 tracker, a total 2,633 more people were infected with the Covid-19 virus. In the recent days, the daily number of Covid-19 cases nationwide was at 4,000.
The tally of active Covid-19 cases across the country also declined slightly to 36,190 as compared to the over 40,000 active infections in the previous days.
Metro Manila is still leading with the most number of cases in the past 14 days with 15,685. Calabarzon was next with 9,972, Central Luzon with 5,267,Western Visayas with 2,763, and Cagayan Valley with 2,402.
Since the pandemic started in 2020, the Philippines has already recorded a total of 3,838,062, including, 3,740,745 recoveries, and 61,127 deaths.
