etro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 11) — The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,906 new COVID-19 infections and 428 fatalities in the week of April 4 to 10.
The agencys weekly bulletin posted Monday showed the daily average for that week was 272 new cases, about 29% lower than the previous week.
Of the 428 deaths, 31 (7.2%) occurred this month, 65 (15.2%) last month, 45 (10.5%) in February and 51 (11.9%) in January 2022.
There were 164 deaths traced to 2021: six in December, two in November, 17 in October, 34 in September, 33 in August, seven in July, six in June, 11 in May, 19 in April, 16 in March, eight in February, and five in January.
There were also 72 new deaths from 2020: five in December, eight in November, nine in October, 11 in September, 13 in August, 14 in July, ten in June, and two in May.
There were no new critical cases logged but the DOH said 707 severe and critical COVID-19 patients are currently staying in hospitals — about 12.6% of total COVID-19 admissions.
The department said 16.4% of non-intensive care unit beds are occupied or 4,045 out of 24,689 beds. For ICU beds, the utilization rate was at 18.4% or 542 beds out of 2,951.
The DOH also gave updates on vaccination rates with 74.05% of the target population and 76.12% of the target elderly population (A2 group) inoculated.
Over 66.65 million people have been fully vaccinated, including 526,654 who received their shots in recent week. Meanwhile, more than 12.48 million people got their boosters, including 322,913 boosted in the recent week.
