MANILA, Philippines — It will be a cool Christmas Day for certain parts of the country, based on a temperature outlook released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Wednesday.
This Sunday, December 25, Baguio City’s temperature will range from 13 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius while Rizal will have it at around 18 degrees Celsius to 23 degrees Celsius during the day and 19 degrees Celsius to 22 degrees Celsius in the evening.
Metro Manila will experience a climate as low as 23 degrees Celsius on Christmas Day – specifically, around 22 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius during the daytime and 23 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius by evening.
A five-day temperature advisory for Luzon areas issued at 8 a.m. Wednesday showed predicted conditions in Metro Manila and the region’s provinces on Christmas Day:

Tarlac: 20 to 33 degrees Celsius during the day | 21 to 30 degrees Celsius at night

Pampanga: 22 to 32 degrees Celsius during the day | 23 to 30 degrees Celsius at night
Bulacan: 22 to 31 degrees Celsius during the day | 21 to 29 degrees Celsius at night
Cavite: 20 to 31 degrees Celsius during the day | 21 to 29 degrees Celsius at night

Pagasa weather specialist Patrick del Mundo told INQUIRER in a phone interview that the northeast monsoon, which is locally known as amihan, may have a surge of winds beginning this week. Thus, he noted, temperatures may even get colder than predicted.
The northeast monsoon is described as the cool and dry wind coming from Siberia and China that blows down to Southeast Asia, which includes the Philippines.
