THE trough of the low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and the southwest monsoon or "habagat" will dump rain over parts of the country on Friday, the state-run weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the trough of the LPA would affect extreme Northern Luzon, "specifically Batanes," while monsoon rains will drench Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said, however, that the LPA would unlikely enter PAR.
Meanwhile, Estareja said most parts of the country will experience another day of generally fair weather until over the weekend.
He warned, however, of "isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or at night."
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms within 24 hours.
