Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 16) — The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,118 new COVID-19 infections in the week of May 9 to 15.
According to its weekly bulletin posted on Monday, the DOH said the daily average of that week was 160, which is 0.3% lower than the previous week. Of the new cases, 14 were severe and critical.
The agency also logged 16 new fatalities — 12 occurred this month while four were from April.
For the healthcare utilization rates, 17.5% of non-intensive care unit (ICU) beds were occupied or 4,141 out of 23,707 beds, while ICU beds were 15.6% occupied or 438 out of 2,812 beds.
There were also 588 severe and critical patients staying in hospitals — 10.6% of the total COVID-19 admissions.
The vaccination coverage of the target population is at 76.29% while the rate for the target elderly population (A2 group) was at 77.12%.
More than 68.67 million people have been fully vaccinated, including 227,272 who received their shots last week. Over 13.62 million have been boosted, including 165,332 who got their boosters on May 9 to 15.
